Privacy Policy/Security
At Nations One Mortgage, we are concerned about and respect the privacy of our customers' personal financial information. You have chosen to entrust us with sensitive information and you expect privacy and security for your personal and financial affairs. We are committed to treating your personal information responsibly.
We will take the necessary steps to safeguard the sensitive information you may entrust to us. Nations One Mortgage does not sell or share nonpublic personal information about you with parties outside our corporate family except as permitted or required by law.
This notice describes the practices of Nations One Mortgage regarding personally identifiable financial information.
Information We Collect
At Nations One Mortgage we collect nonpublic personal information from the following sources:
- Information that you provide to us personally from applications, forms, or other correspondence you complete with us. For example, information such as your name, address, telephone number, and tax identification number; as well as information on your assets and income, may be collected.
- Information regarding your transactions with us and our affiliates. For example, we may collect information such as your account balances, payment history, and account activity.
- Information that we obtain from a consumer reporting agency or others. This may include information such as credit reports or income verification.
Information We May Share with Companies Within Our Corporate Family
An affiliated company is any company that controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with another company. Nations One Mortgage is a division of Universal Mortgage Corporation (UMC). UMC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Peoples State Bank (PSB); thus Nations One Mortgage, UMC and PSB are affiliates.
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, we are permitted to share information with our affiliates about our experiences with you or your account. For example, we may share information about your account balances and payment history.
Information We May Share With Companies Outside of Our Corporate Family
Nations One Mortgage does not sell the nonpublic personal information we collect about you.
We do not share nonpublic personal information we collect about you except as permitted or required by law.
We may share some or all of the information described in the "Information We Collect" section with:
- Companies that work for us to service your accounts, or to provide services you have requested, or to process transactions you have initiated.
- Other financial service providers, such as insurance companies, mortgage bankers, or securities brokers/dealers.
We may also share information we collect with companies who perform marketing services on our behalf or with other financial service companies with whom we have joint marketing agreements.
Safeguarding Customer Information
We have safeguards in place to protect your nonpublic personal information. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information to employees based on their need to know information in order to provide the quality service you deserve. To protect your nonpublic personal information, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with government requirements.
All employees receive training regarding the importance of safeguarding customer information.
We follow the policies and procedures detailed in this notice to safeguard personal information on former customers.
We will provide a copy of this notice to you annually for as long as you remain an active customer of the company. If we change our policy or practice - for example, adding a category of information we will disclose to a third party - we will notify existing customers and give them an appropriate time period to opt out of the disclosure.
Definitions:
Nonpublic Personal Information: Information about you that is not readily available from a public source. This includes:
- Information provided by you during the application process. Your unlisted phone number and your income are examples of nonpublic personal information.
- Information resulting from your use of a financial product or service. For example, your payment history and account balances are nonpublic personal information.
- Information from other sources. For example, information about your credit history obtained from a consumer report is nonpublic personal information.
Joint Marketing Agreement: This is an agreement in which Nations One Mortgage contracts with another financial institution to market either or both of the institutions' products or services.
Opt out: Nations One Mortgage does not share your personally identifiable information with nonaffiliated third parties except as allowed by law. Therefore, you do not need to opt out to protect your information from being shared in this manner. By law, we are allowed to share information about our experiences with you with our affiliates, Universal Mortgage Corporation (UMC) and Peoples State Bank (PSB). You can, however, opt out of having us share any additional information with our affiliates. For example, if you opt out we could not share with UMC information that you have provided us on an application (like your income), nor could we share with UMC information that we have obtained from a consumer credit report (like your credit history with companies other than PSB). Opt-out will not prevent us from sharing information with our affiliate or nonaffiliated third parties as permitted by law.
